Vacancy | Business Intelligence Analyst

20-28 hours/week

In a nutshell: As a Mid-level Business Intelligence Analyst, you will provide clear insights into the development of the Dutch battery ecosystem as well as international market and investment dynamics, enabling BCC-NL and its partners to make better and faster strategic decisions.

About BCC-NL

The battery sector is growing at an explosive rate and plays a key role in the energy transition, electrification, and industrial innovation. BCC-NL is the national public-private organisation that supports the development, growth, and strengthening of the Dutch battery value chain. We connect companies, knowledge institutions, government bodies, and the manufacturing industry to accelerate innovation, industrialisation, and system integration.

Because the sector is young, dynamic, and fast-moving, high-quality ecosystem intelligence is essential. The Mid-level Business Intelligence Analyst plays a central role in this. The position is explicitly part of the programme office of the National Growth Fund for battery technology, meaning you will make a structural contribution to monitoring, interpretation, and reporting on the progress of this national programme. This includes both setting up reliable monitoring processes operationally and strategically interpreting the results for government, industry, and investment partners.

What will you do?

1. Provide insight into the Dutch battery ecosystem (with a European perspective)
  • Monitor the growth, movements, and structure of the national battery ecosystem.
  • Develop and manage KPIs, dashboards, and strategic reports.
  • Assess the Dutch position within Europe.
  • Translate European and global trends into actionable insights for businesses and government.
  • Collaborate with partners such as RVO, EZK/KGG, IenW, NFIA, ROMs, and international data providers.
  • Prepare monitoring and progress reports for the National Growth Fund.

This is not a technical BI role, but an analytical and strategic position with visibility towards industry and government.

2. Analyse market demand, trends, and investment dynamics
  • Track market developments in storage, mobility, grids, industry, and circularity.
  • Analyse investment flows, supply chain shifts, and geopolitical movements.
  • Translate trends into risks, opportunities, and strategic implications.
  • Incorporate insights into factsheets, deep dives, and strategic briefs.
  • Proactively gather signals from companies, experts, and partners
3. Collaboration and stakeholder management

You will work closely with the Programme Manager, Programme Leaders, and Innovation Architects. You will link data insights to programme decisions and market developments. In addition, you will work intensively with companies, knowledge institutions, RVO, ministries, NFIA, ROMs, and international data partners.

Who are you?

  • Strong analytical skills and curiosity about ecosystems, markets, and international developments.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex information clearly.
  • Sensitive to stakeholder needs and able to switch between industry, government, and knowledge institutions.
  • Affinity with energy transition, supply chains, industrial policy, or innovation ecosystems.
  • 2–5 years of experience in data analysis, market analysis, or strategic intelligence.
  • Experience with Power BI, Excel, and optionally Python or SQL.
  • Experience with ecosystems, innovation projects, or industrial data is an advantage.
  • You work independently but thrive in a small, dynamic, and fast-growing team.

What do we offer?

  • A key role in building the Dutch battery sector.
  • A position at the intersection of industry, market, policy, and technology.
  • Plenty of room for initiative, professional growth, and independence.
  • A one-year contract (0.5–0.7 FTE) with the intention to extend.
  • Hybrid working possible.
  • Opportunities to progress towards a strategic or senior intelligence role.
