Ore Energy
Ore Energy is a Netherlands-based energy storage company developing iron-air long-duration energy storage systems designed for multi-day grid balancing. The company's technology stores and releases energy through the reversible rusting and unrusting of iron, using only abundant, non-flammable, EU- sourceable materials. Ore Energy's modular systems are designed for 24 to 100 hours of storage duration, complementing short-duration lithium-ion to help European power systems reduce curtailment, lower dependence on fossil backup, and strengthen energy security. The company has completed multiple grid-connected demonstration projects, raised more than €50 million in funding and has plans to scale to full GWh-range production capacity by 2030.
