The Battery Competence Cluster – NL (BCC NL) supports the Battery Innovation Mission to the Bordeaux region (France), organised by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). This mission offers Dutch companies, knowledge institutions and other organisations the opportunity to strengthen their position within the European battery ecosystem and to establish new international collaborations.
The Bordeaux / Nouvelle-Aquitaine region is rapidly developing into a key European hub for battery technology, with a strong focus on innovation, industrialisation, circularity and value chains for energy storage and e‑mobility.
Mission objectives
The objectives of this innovation mission are to:
- Explore strategic collaborations between Dutch and French stakeholders
- Gain insight into the French battery ecosystem, policies and investment programmes
- Discuss technological and market developments in batteries, energy storage and circularity
- Position the Dutch battery sector internationally within Europe
Through company visits, matchmaking and thematic sessions, participants will gain direct access to key players in the region.

This mission is intended for organisations active in or working on:
- Battery technology and materials
- Energy storage (stationary and mobile)
- Electric mobility and industrial applications
- Battery recycling, reuse and circularity
- R&D, test facilities and system integration
The mission is relevant for:
- Companies (SMEs, scale‑ups and OEMs)
- Knowledge and research institutions
- Public organisations and ecosystems
What can you expect?
The programme includes:
- Company and project visits in the Bordeaux region
- Matchmaking meetings with carefully selected French partners
- Networking events with local authorities, knowledge institutions and companies
- In‑depth sessions on policy, innovation programmes and funding opportunities
The mission is coordinated by RVO, in collaboration with the Dutch international innovation and attaché network in France.
