Material Independence & Circular Batteries” is a programme of the Battery Competence Cluster-NL. This is the national collaboration platform for battery developments. With support from the National Growth Fund, we connect dozens of parties from research, industry, and government. Together, we work on circularity, testing facilities, and new battery materials. We also invest in production technologies and smart applications, such as batteries for heavy‑duty transport. As a result, the Netherlands becomes less dependent on other countries for scarce raw materials needed for batteries. This strengthens the position of the Dutch manufacturing industry within the international battery value chain. It also contributes to clean energy, greater innovation, and new jobs. And it supports our future earning capacity.
